Vintage Deco Necklace, 1930s Czech Harlequin Art Glass Multicoloured Beads

This is a playful and summery Art Deco necklace (circa 1930s) made of 'harlequin' Czech (Bohemian) art glass beads in delicate and attractive rose, sky and cobalt blue, gold, orange, canary yellow and red hues enhanced by a slight pearlescence. The colourful beads are separated with black and silvered seed bead spacers which add subtle contrast and sparkle. The necklace is 28 inches long (known as Opera length), and we have added a 3.5 inch extension tail which makes it possible to wear it doubled up, sitting at the base of the neck, or as a loose long strand. The necklace has been recently re-threaded on strong modern threads, and fastens with its original spring ring clasp. We know Czech beads such as these were made before WWII because Czechoslovakia was occupied by Germany in 1939, with devastating effect on the jewellery and glass industries which had been flourishing in Bohemia since the 19th century. After WWII Czechoslovakia became a communist state behind the Iron Curtain, so art glass and jewellery exports to the West did not resume for a long time. A charming memento of the vanished Deco period, this necklace remains as vibrant now as it was then!

USA parcels are shipped DDP, with all Duties and Tariffs paid, so you will not be charged anything on delivery. 

We do not collect VAT at checkout, so EU customers may be liable for VAT payments on delivery (this is the same amount you would be charged at checkout on IOSS orders).

SHIPPING 
All international orders are shipped tracked, and usually expedited (delivery to most countries is 4-6 working days, whilst further destinations like Australia and Japan tend to take 5 - 10 working days). 

RETURNS We have a no quibble return policy, so if you are not happy with your item, please get in touch within 14 days and ship the item back to us within 30 days of receipt. Return postage is normally paid by the buyer (cf. Etsy's return policies).
